Ear Ecstasy

Ear Ecstasy

Ben Gorski, born and raised in Bartonsville Pennsylvania wrote and recorded his first song at age 13. Only a year after discovering that music is the only way. Best friend Dan Deluca from Reeders Pennsylvania, easily felt the same way and couldn’t drop the desire to become a true musician.

At age 14 Ben and Dan began writing music together. With no prior experience they discovered a vent. A way out from the daily grind. After posting advertisement’s for a drummer Adam Lysomirski responded with more to offer than drums. An extremely talented, educated, clean and clear minded, percussionist from Effort Pennsylvania. Amy Ottolagano joined as bassist. In 2003 “Nothing Special” was born.

With the help of family, friends, and fans Nothing Special recorded a 12 song original album with Little City recordings called “Feelings of a Dream.” Ben’s lyrics were not so encouraging at the time having a confusing and troubled lifestyle. Many things hindered the bands performance and motivation. Adam and Amy lost interest in the band due to it’s lack of responsibility. Sadly, in 2005, the band went their separate ways. Adam began college at Penn State University for Chemistry. Amy went to school for graphic design and Dan swerved his passion toward the field of labor and hands on work. Ben continued to write music, but in a vague state of mind, and a careless lifestyle.

In March 2008, Ben came to the realization that music is what he loved, and that’s what he was going to do. He registered for school at a community college to pursue a degree in Education and played every Wednesday night at the Sarah Street Grill open mic by himself. He knew he had to get everyone’s attention.

No matter what happened his desire to play would not let go. Sure enough the optimism pulled Dan back into the life of music. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the most pleasant way of aligning the stars. While installing a water heater, Dan’s leg was crushed, breaking his femur in half. A loss of blood nearly killed him. Pain raped his mind, but he didn’t give up. He was placed on unemployment where his ties with Ben reconnected. Their desire to play: incomprehensible. Both Ben and Dan knew it was crucial to have a complete sound so they began looking for a bassist. A free spirited guitarist from seaside named Kevin Littleton had something to offer. His natural ability to play, and his self motivation to write was more than enough to offer for this band. He was on the same optimistic level. He was asked to play bass, however, he never played bass. Why were the two so interested in him? Because he was happy with nothing and ecstatic with something. He came through a 100%. In only a week, he learned some basic skills that worked for the time. He now focuses on his own style, which he has absolute intentions of mastering. Things worked so well, “Why not call Adam?” He was home for the summer from college and sure enough was willing to play again.

The band is focused, clear minded and ready to take on the world. There is only one thing this band has time for and that is optimism. Every positive thought and feeling is aligning this band with the stars of legends. The band will write music and change the perspective of future generations for the better. A theme of optimism, a subliminal nudge of encouragement, another way to get high…if you have the Ear for this particular Ecstasy, come along for the ride.
